Japan Urges Syria to Implement Arab League Agreement

Tokyo- (PanOrient News) Japan urged the Syrian Government to accept the Arab League decision with sincerity and to swiftly implement all items of the action plan in order to prevent further victims.

A statement by the Foreign Ministry in Tokyo said that Japan regards the acts of violence carried out by the intrusion of protestors into several diplomatic missions in Syria, as being deplorable, and strongly urges the Syrian Government to uphold their duty to protect the diplomatic missions as stipulated by international law.

The League of Arab States in an emergency meeting with foreign ministers in Cairo, Egypt on November 12, decided on provisions to be taken to stop acts of violence and murder in Syria.

Japan welcomed the efforts of the League of Arab States toward a solution of the situation, the statement said.
