Japan Condemns Horrific Attack by Israeli Terrorists

Tokyo - The Japanese government has condemned the actions of Israeli terrorists who caused the death of an 18-month-old infant as well as serious injuries to the child’s parents and other family members. The terrorist attack was carried out near Nablus city in Palestine (West Bank).
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo said that the Government of Japan was shocked and saddened by the arson attack, and the country expresses its condolences with deepest sympathy to the family while praying for early recovery of those injured.
The statement stressed that Japan strongly urges the Israeli authorities to conduct an urgent and transparent investigation into this terrorist attack and to take appropriate measures to avoid recurrence of such a tragedy.
The statement said also that Japan calls on the "parties concerned" to exercise restraint in order to ensure that the incident will not lead to an escalation of violence, and reminded both sides to act positively to realize peace.
