Three Arabs Honored in Japan's 2011 Spring Conferment of Decorations

Tokyo- (PanOrient News) The Government of Japan has decided to confer decorations to 59 distinguished foreign nationals, including three Arabs, for their contributions to the society, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo said in a statement.

Ms. Thoraya Ahmed Obaid of Saudi Arabia received The Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun for her Contributions when she was the Former Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund, to Japan’s policy on maternal and child health and international cooperation in the area of population and development .

Mr. Hamad Abdulla Al Muttawa, Former Undersecretary of the Agriculture and Fisheries of Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, received The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon Contributed to the promotion of the relations in the fields of agriculture and fisheries between Japan and the UAE.

Former local employee at the Japanese Embassy in Damascus, Syria, Mr. Isber Isber of Talkalakh in Homs received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Silver Rays "for contributing to the activities of the Japanese overseas establishment."
